Cat Wile

Originally from Massachusetts, and now a resident of the creative and adventurous Asheville population, I received a degree in Business Administration from Elon University in 2008, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I worked as a corporate financial analyst for Bank of America for four years before finally convincing myself that my skills and talents belonged elsewhere. I have worked as a raft guide at the US National Whitewater Center, a slinger of some of the best craft beers in the country at NoDa Brewing Company in Charlotte and Highland Brewing in Asheville, and as a blogger, writer and manager of all things organizational for OneSeed Expeditions in Denver, CO.

After leaving the corporate world I, I left the country for a year to kayak the wild rivers of New Zealand and hike through the Himalayas of Nepal. Surrounded by the most beautiful land and water I’ve ever known, I realized writing is a big part of me. I was overwhelmed with the response to my travel blog, and I worked as an editor for two national New Zealand outdoor publications, developed copy for a friend’s website, and had an article published inĀ Cumec, New Zealand’s premier kayak magazine.

I have incurable wanderlust, an addiction to everything about the craft beer world, an adamant hope I’ll cure my fear of water through whitewater kayaking, and a humble admiration and respect for the power held within words.
